An uneven and damaged wall is smoothed out by being cross lined. This means that wall is prepared by hanging lining paper horizontally and then painted with vinyl silk.

This pattern took some matching! Particular care was taken when fixing the coving to disguise an uneven ceiling and to ensure that underside was horizontal to show off the pattern.
The papering and coving enhanced the detail in the arch.
